We're excited to announce that our holding company, Momentum Metropolitan Holdings, has changed its name to Momentum Group Limited. Our holding company has had more than one name change, from MMI to Momentum Metropolitan Holdings and now to Momentum Group Limited. This change is part of our ongoing efforts to simplify and streamline our operations, allowing us to continue delivering exceptional service while retaining our strong market presence.
Rest assured, this change only affects the holding company and will not impact our clients’ Metropolitan policies and premiums. Our operating model remains unchanged with Metropolitan and other retail-facing businesses within the Group, including Momentum, Guardrisk, and Eris Properties, which will continue to operate as they do now.

The name change aims to simplify, strengthen, and shape the Group's brand for future growth and competitiveness.
- Research shows that the Momentum brand has a strong market positioning, covering the widest target audience groups, and therefore Metropolitan and other retail-facing businesses within the Group, will benefit from this brand equity.
- In addition, shortening Momentum Metropolitan Holdings will help us align with other top listed groups in the country. eg, Absa Group, Old Mutual, Discovery. Etc.
Is the Metropolitan brand changing to Momentum?
No, the Metropolitan brand will continue to operate as it does currently.
What does the group name change mean practically/what brand elements are going to change?
All Metropolitan branding at branches and offices will remain the same.
How will the name change affect Metropolitan clients?
- Metropolitan’s clients will not be affected by the name change.
- All policies and premiums will continue to be held with Metropolitan.
- All walk-in branches will continue to operate as Metropolitan branches.
Does the rebranding have any impact on existing agreements or contracts?
No. All contracts concluded under Metropolitan or under the current Group name will remain unchanged.
